What the paper asks of you
The three texts are written for a non-specialist audience, so you are never expected to arrive with subject knowledge. What you are expected to do is follow an argument you have never seen before, at speed, and answer questions that deliberately paraphrase the text rather than repeat it. At least one of the three passages carries a detailed logical argument, which is where most candidates lose time.
The question types are not interchangeable. True / False / Not Given asks about the text; Yes / No / Not Given asks about the writer. Matching headings rewards skimming for the shape of a paragraph; sentence and summary completion punish it, because they need the exact word from the text. Knowing which mode a question is in before you start reading is worth more than any vocabulary list.
