All multiple choice, and some of it does not count
On the computer-delivered paper you will see more reading items than are scored: the extras are trial questions FEI uses to validate future items, and they do not affect your result. You are not told which ones they are, so the only sane strategy is to treat every item as real and to keep your pace steady rather than agonising over an item that felt unusually strange.
Because the paper spans the whole CEFR range, you will meet items below and above your level in the same sitting. There is no target band to study to. What raises a TCF reading score is the same thing that raises your reading generally: more comprehension, faster, across more registers.
